The Ghana Volleyball Association (GVA) has moved its senior men’s team the Black Spikers into a residential camping ahead of the final qualification for the FIVB 2018 World Cup which will be staged in Italy/Bulgaria in September 2018. The team is made up of 26 players and official. The team has been training since August at the Accra Sports Stadium.
They arrived at this point by beating Nigeria and Niger 3-1 and Cote d’Ivoire 3-0 during the zonal qualification on Niamey in July.
Two teams from each of the 7 zones forming the African Volleyball Confederation will meet in Cairo, Egypt
from 20-30/10/2017 for the final 2018 World Cup qualifier. Africa has 3 slots for the world cup.
