Keta Sunset Close to Historic Beach Soccer League Title

Majestic Keta Sunset at the moment seem almost invincible and fully justified their hot favourites tag with a classy display of beach soccer artistry with just two rounds of matches to play.

The nimble footed beach ballers have opened up a three point lead at the top of the Cal Bank Premier Beach Soccer League.

The Voltarians thumped bitter rivals and city neighbours Havedzi Mighty Warriors 3-0 at the La Beach Soccer Arena in La.

Colorful and vociferous fans from the Die Hard Supporters Union were present at the Arena to cheer the various teams as they played out end to end action packed games.

A brace from Newlove Doe and a goal from Michael Sema sealed the Warriors fate as they failed to break through a very well organized Sunset setup.

In another thrilling encounter, local heroes Wuo Gbee cemented third place with a 6-1 thrashing of community rivals Layoca. A hat-trick from Richard Osa, a brace of Samuel Adjei and a goal from James Tagoe handed Wuo Gbee the maximum points with Patrick Ofori getting a consolation for Layoca.

Joseph Larweh?s hat-trick helped Ada Assurance secure a 7-3 victory over Tegbi Youth. Amazingly Assurance were 7-0 up going into the third period but goals from Tegbi?s Christian Mensah and Senyo Tugba set up a slightly nervous finish to the game.

In other games, Dansoman Beach Soccer Club effectively sent Osu Dolphins down to the second-tier league with a 5-0 thrashing. Also East Legon Sharks came from behind to beat Senya Bereku Sharks 3-1.

Over in the Clementia Contacto Division 1 league, Teshie United lost first place to Nungua Beach Soccer Club after they lost to Chorkor Blue Whales by 2-3.
Surprisingly, Gulf Powers managed a narrow win over African Angels. Eric Lamptey and Frederick Kwevi scored for the Powers after Daniel Ahiagah put the Angels ahead.
