The rapidly improving beach soccer league has captured the imagination of communities dotted along Ghana's vast but untapped coastal belt.
Kofi Nimo, who was adjudged the second best defender at the 1991 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Italy, has agreed a deal to coach struggling East Legon Sharks.
The combative former defender was thrilled by the passion, skills and tempo of beach soccer players and expressed his sentiments about the developing sport saying 'these are very exciting times'
“What I have seen here is really very nice, since I started playing football this is my first time taking part in this game, it is very interesting.”
Nimo was also part of the U-20 side that won silver at the 1993 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Australia with the likes of Sammy Kufuor and Nii Odartey Lamptey.
