A statement from the Secretary General of the Association noted that the championship is open to all swimmers and swimming clubs across the country. Prospective swimmers will compete in the categories 15years and over, 13-14 years, 11-12 years and 10 years and under age for both males and females.
The Championship aims at offering opportunities to unearth more swimming talents, officially rank swimmers and select the best swimmers that would undergo further training to participate in FINA International Swimming events such as the African Juniors in Egypt, World Juniors in Dubai.
The statement further noted that the 10 years and under age category swimmers are eligible to swim in the 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 50m Breastroke, 50m butterfly, 4x50m Medley Relay and 4x50m Freestyle Relay events.
On the other hand, the 11-12years, 13-14years, and 15 years and over age groups are allowed entries into the 50m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breastroke, Butterfly, 100m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breastroke, Butterfly, 200m Individual Medley, 4x50m Medley relay and 4x50m Freestyle Relay events.
Interested swimmers can register at the Ghana Swimming Association secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium or send their names to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org not later than 19th April, 2013.
