The theme for this year’s celebration is dubbed’ removing barriers to create an inclusive and accessible society for all’. It is anticipated over 300 with and without disability from various disability and civic institutions; organizations and interest groups will patronize this very important event.
A statement from the media coordinator of the Association, Dennis Kweku Moore noted that this years a celebration is primarily aimed at Adding the voice of persons with disability in Ghana to other stakeholders, Offering an opportunity for persons with disability in Ghana to showcase their desire for commitment towards an inclusive electoral process and Offering a platform for political parties in the country to assure the disability movement and all Ghanaians of their commitment to peaceful and inclusive elections.
The statement further stated the celebrations will be witnessed by representatives of all the political parties who will be signing the peace banner as part of the peaceful campaigns from the Disability fraternity ahead of the upcoming elections on Friday.
The event will be attended by various disabled associations such as the National Federation for the Disabled, The Ghana Society for the Physically Disabled, The Ghana Blind Union, The National Association of the Deaf and Mind Freedom. Special dignitaries who will also be present include Mr. Max Vardon, executive secretary of NCPD, Dr.Neal Boafo-director of operations, NCPD, Mr. Andrew Okaikwei, chairman-NCPD and CEO of rlg, Mr. Roland Agambire
