Mr Wolanyo Agra will attain the age of sixty (60) years on the 24th September 2012, thus this move is in line with the Public Service Rules and Regulations which indicates that a public servant must proceed on leave three (3) months prior to retirement.
A letter signed by the Sports Minster (Hon. Clement Humado) and copied to The Secretary to the President, The Chief of Staff, The Chairman of the Public Service Commission, The Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority and The Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, expressed the Minister’s and Government’s thanks and appreciation to the Director General for his invaluable services during his tenure of office.

‘RETIREMENT FROM THE PUBLIC SERVICE - MR WOLANYO AGRA’
I wish to inform you that records available to us indicate that you will attain the age of sixty (60) years on 24th September, 2012 and will therefore be due for compulsory retirement from the public service.
In line with Public Service Rules and Regulations, you are accordingly requested to take your leave prior to retirement with effect from 1st August 2012.
You are to submit, to the Chief Director of the Ministry, a comprehensive handing over notes on the administration and management of the National Sports Authority. You are also requested to handover all Government properties in your possession to the Chief Director of the Ministry prior to proceeding on your terminal leave.
I wish to take this opportunity to convey to you my sincere thanks and appreciation, as well as that of Government for your invaluable services during your tenure of office as the Director-General of the Authority.
