Five-Day Golf Course Ends

President of the Ghana Golf Association (GGA), Dr. Felix Frimpong, has appealed to professional golfers (pros) to serve as role models for the youth and amateurs in the game.

He said one of the biggest tasks of the association is to make the sport accessible for interested parties and also develop it at the junior level, with this, the president called on the pros to avail themselves for the junior programme of the body.

Dr. Frimpong made this call during the closing ceremony of a five day golf training course held at the Achimota Golf Course (AGC) by renowned golfer Gary Allis.
He also urged the pros to make good use of the materials and knowledge acquired during the workshop to help develop the skills of the youth and amateur in the game.

The president advised the youth and amateurs to take their lessons serious and also desist from immoral acts that could jeopardize the future and dream of becoming pros in the game.
About 40 amateurs and juniors participated in the workshop and were drawn from almost all golf clubs in the country.

Captain of AGC, Mr. Rene Kwame, said thanked GGA for coming up with such a programme reiterating, that it has sharpened the skills of participants and was hopeful Ghana will soon put up a team for the Olympic Games.
