GABF President Donates Boxing Equipments to Some Regions

President of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (gGABF), Ambassador Ray Quarcoo, has tasked Regional Sports Director (RSD’s) to work harder to promote sports in their regions.

He said their authorities can only ask for results if they are equipped and therefore urged them to work with the little they are given to propel government to give them more adding that the GABF has appointed laisson officers for each region to work hand in hand to promote boxing in the various regions.

The GABF boss gave this advice when he presented boxing equipments worth several thousands of dollars to some selected regions through their RSD’s.

The items included; punch bags, wall pad, gloves, skipping ropes, mouth pieces and instructors handpad and the beneficiaries were; Central, Volta, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions.

Each region received two punch bags, two skipping ropes, two pairs of gloves and two mouth pieces.

On his part, the Director-General (DG) of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr. Worlanyo Agra, applauded the GABF for their efforts in the promotion and development of their game adding that the NSA was still committed in collaborating with the various sporting associations in their developmental programmes.

He also called on retired boxers to avail themselves for technical programmes to beef up the technical bench of the sport since they could be managers or coaches for the upcoming ones.
