Isaac Doku Crowned Kickboxing Champ

The night of May 29th would prove to be a memorable one for Kick boxing enthusiasts who thronged Vienne City to witness the much anticipated World Kickboxing Federation (WKF) - Ghana National Title Fight between as Isaac Doku   and his opponent SteavanoTuekpe .

 

The match billed ‘Clash of the Titans’ by Pandects indeed exceeded all expectations as Isaac Doku engaged  Steavano in a fiercely competitive 5-round Light Middle Weight division bout characterized with lots of energy, aggression  and stylish techniques.

Isaac Doku was crowned winner at the end of the very entertainting and competitive fight to be crowned the first ever champion over the weekend.
The night also saw competitive enthralling bouts in the super welter and light welter weight as well as an open boxing fight.


The Super welter weight division had WKF-ranked Gerald Dah delight the audience as he completely out boxed Okpodjah Tetteh shortly before Raphael Boadzo stylishly out – pointed Issaka Issah in the light welter weight division bout.

 

Prince Okine took on WKF champion, Stephen Abbey in a very entertaining open boxing fight that brought lots of delight among the audience, however, the bout ended in a draw.

A statement signed by the Secretary General of the Association,Dominic Kankan noted that The Title-fight has indeed sent a message across the nation that Kickboxing exists in Ghana, and that our dear nation is endowed with great talents.                                                                                                

The Federation and Power Zone Kickboxing Club express their gratitude to the Hon. Consul Mrs. Ingeborg Smith, patron of the Ghana Kickboxing Association for her tremendous efforts towards the development of Kickboxing in the Country as well as Vienna City for sponsoring the event.

The statement further called for support sponsorship from companies, individual philanthropist and Kickboxing enthusiasts to contribute their quota to a successful upkeep of the fighters as they remain in camp ahead of upcoming international competitions.
