Badminton Course on April 13th

A  Four -day badminton   umpires and line judges course is being organized by the Badminton Association of Ghana in collaboration with the National Sports Council at the Press Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium from 9:00am-5:00pm daily.

The Course is aimed at training badminton officials on the modern trends of officiating in badminton as well as preparing the officials for the upcoming National Sports festival scheduled for June this year.

A statement signed by the Secretary General of the Association, Ignatius Ellettey noted that the course will tackle are laws of badminton, Organisation of events, Duties of umpires and hand signals. The rest are misconduct towards match officials and penalties of misconduct as well as practicals.

Eighteen participants have been invited nationwide to participate in the course, which would be conducted by 3 local coaches namely Dr. K.A.Asamoah-UCC, Messrs Frank Shamao and J.E. Wilson from Accra and Takoradi respectively.

The statement noted that all participants are expected to arrive in Accra and report to the Association’s Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, April 12 at 4; 30pm
