AFAB Donates to Baseball Assocation

Association of Friends for Africa Baseball (AFAB)  a non Governmental Organization has donated 120 boxes of baseball items such as balls, gloves  and original baseball  ball to the Ghana Baseball and Softball Association (GHABSA) to aid in developing and promoting baseball in the country.

The donation is inline with a Memorandum of Understanding yet to be signed between AFAB AND GHABSA that seeks to developed baseball from the Schools.


Receiving the items, the Chief Executive of the National Sports Council, Mr Wolanyo Agra expressed his appreciation to the group for their kind gesture and promised that his outfit will make effective use of the equipments.


He also tasked the technical team of GHABSA to run courses for the various teachers in the various schools to keep them abreast with the current trends in the sport.
Speaking at the event, the president of GHABSA, Mr Albert Yei Frimpong noted that he is very optimistic that the equipments will go a long way in reviving and creating more awareness of the sport among Ghanaians.


He expressed his appreciation to the NGO and pledged his commitment to making effective use of the equipments and pleaded for more support to make the sport more attractive.
On his part Mr Shinya Tomonari said that baseball is a sport that is very economical and easy to play and if thought well could become the number one sport for primary and basic school kids. He also pledged his support for the growth and development of baseball in the country.
The delegation is expected to leave the Country on March 19 after a Short memorial match in their honor at the tEma Community 7-8 Basic School Part
