Prisons Service topped Group A after beating both Central and Upper East Regions 52-12 and 54-13 respectively to qualify.
They will face the Greater Accra Women’s Handball team, runner up of Group B in the first quarter final match.
The Ghana Armed Forces Women’s Handball team, who emerged as the first group to qualify after beating Greater Accra 26-16 and Western Region 31-16 to top Group B, will meet the runner up of Group A, the Central Region Women’s Handball team.
In Group C, the Upper West Region Women’s Handball team failed to show up in the tournament, thereby securing automatic qualification for Fire Service and the Volta Region.
Fire Service, however, beat only Volta Region 32-15 to emerge on top of that group to book a semi final match with the Ashanti Region Women’s handball team, runner up of Group D.
Group D leaders, the Ghana Police Service will also lock horns with the Volta region in the last quarter final match.
At press time yesterday, the last group matches of the men’s handball discipline was still underway with the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana Police Service, and Northern Region cruising their ways to the quarter finals of the tournament.
The quarter finals of the Men’s handball will also begin today at the Handball Court at the University of Ghana, Legon.
