Hockey : Ashanti Ladies in Good Start.

The Ladies from Ashanti Region began their campaign in the Hockey discipline by beating their counterparts from the Central Region by 5-0 yesterday at the National Hockey Pitch in Accra.

A double from Sarfoa Martha in the first 35 minutes set the tone for the Ashantis to carry the day. The inexperienced Ladies from ‘Oguaa’ did not deter the Kumasi Ladies as Opoku Elizabeth also added two more goals in the second half.
Adampa Janet sealed the day for the Ashantis when she added the last goal to the Ashantis goal tally. In another match played yesterday, CEPS Ladies defeated their fellows from the Ghana Police Service by 3-0.
While in soccer, Ashanti Region suffered a 3-2 defeat in the hands of central region at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday. Goals for the central region were scored by Samuel K. Tetteh, Kennedy Boateng and Waja Maziru while Awuni Dennis and Dominic Andoh reduced the goal tally for the Ashanti Region.
In today’s matches, Eastern Region will face Central Region at the Accra Sports Stadium while Greater Accra Region lock horns with Western Region at the Achimota School Park.
