4 Others Partner SIC To Support Unity Games

Communication giants Airtel, CocaCola Bottling Ghana Limited, African Origin Travels and Sports Tourism and RLG Communications have all come on board to contribute their quota towards the National Unity Games.

 

They each donated GH¢15,000, GH¢5000, GH¢5000 and GH¢4000 respectively towards preparations and successful hosting of the Games which is scheduled to kick off on Sunday, July 17th at the Accra Sports Stadium.The Cheque were presented to the Hon.Minister of Youth and Sports,Clement Humado in a short ceremony in Accra.


Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports,Nii Nortey Duah, Chief Director of MOYS,Mr Abudulai,The Director of Adminstration and Finance of the National Sports Authority,Madam Alice Attipoe,The Marketing Manager of Airtel,The Marketing Manager of CocaCola,Mr Kofi Antwi,The Public Affairs Manager of African Origin,Nana Oduro Sarfo and the Head of corporate Affairs at RLG Millicent Atubuah.


The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Clement Humado who received the Cheques reiterated the importance of the Games in unearthing new talents and uplifting the performance of Ghanaian athletes at both the professional and grassroots levels.


He also expressed his appreciation to all the corporate bodies for their handsome contribution and urged other corporate bodies to take advantage of the tax subsidies on sponsorships given to the development of sports and come on board to sponsor more sporting programmes in the country.


Mr Humado further urged the media to give the Games the needed publicity to make the whole festival a success adding that sports always provide the best platform in unifying the country.


On their part, representatives of all the corporate bodies expressed their delight and willingness in partnering the Ministry and the National Sports Authority in hosting a very successful event adding that their doors are always open for future partnerships.
