GVA Coaching Course Underway

A seven-day volley ball coaching course is underway from February 21st -28tygh 2011 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Course is being organized by the Ghana Volley ball Association (GVA) in collaboration with the National Sports Council (NSC) with support from the Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB).

The course which is a Volley ball Coaching (VCP) category 1 course is aimed at equipping volleyball instructors and coaches in the modern ways of developing the sport in the country.

 

Speaking at the Media Launch of the Course, the president of the GVA, Mr. Paul Atchoe said that Ghana is the only African country selected by the FIVB to participate in the FIVB-VCP Course.

 

He noted that the pace at which volleyball is developing in the country is to be transformed to a ‘bullet pace’ and thanked the Chief Executive Officer of the NSC for his outfits support.
He further encouraged all participants of the coaching course to be good ambassadors of the sport after the programme.

 

On his part, the Chief Executive of the National Sports council, Mr. Wolanyo Agra reiterated the words of Mr. Mostafa Ahchouhe, the instructor for the course that even though the country does not have facilities to boost the development of the sport, it does not excuse the slow pace of the development of the sport since some countries try hard enough to make use of the little facilities they have.

 

He however congratulated the GVA on their efforts to help develop the sport.
,Mr Moustafa Ahchouhe , a certified Volleyball Instructor from the FIVB indicated that he expects all participants to be well vexed in volleyball coaching after the training and hoped that they will make effective use  of the knowledge gained.

 

In all thirty-five (35) coaches from all the regions are expected to undergo this Course and they will be certified after concluding the course.
