The Championship dubbed ‘National Independence Badminton Open Championship ‘is aimed at unearthing new talents for further training in preparation towards the All African Games in Maputo as well as the 54th Independence Anniversary Celebrations. The Championship will also be used to access and rank the players.
A press release signed by the Secretary General of the Association, Ignatius Elletey, indicated that the 3-day championship, which will be played at the D.G. Hathiramani Sports Hall, at the Accra Sports Stadium from 9:00am - 04:00pm, daily will feature Singles and Doubles Events for both men and women categories.
Prior to the Championships, the Association will conduct a Training Clinic, for coaches and trainers on Friday, 4th March, 2011 to update them on new trends of coaching the game of Badminton.
The release urged all Badminton players, coaches, and clubs to participate in the events. Entries for the championship end on 20th Febuary, 2011.
