BUKOM BANKU is WBA Africa Champion

Braima Kamoko aka Bukom Banku was last Saturday crowned World Boxing Authority(WBO) Light Heavy Weight champion after he dismantled and schooled his Uruguayan opponent Jorge Olivier a in the fourth round of their 12 round bout.

A Witty and classic Banku entered the ring dancing joyously to a couple of songs being played in the background as compared to his opponent who appeared sober and ready for action.
The fight which took place at the International Conference Center drew a massive crowd which included the Vice-President H.E.John Dramani Mahama and other dignitaries who looked on expectantly.

Clearly ,the patrons were not disappointed as Banku from the onset looked poised to deliver as he attached his opponent with devastating hooks and jabs from the get go  causing his opponent to visits the canvas as early as the first round.

He however survived to continue the bout in the second as Banku kept punishing him with combination punches and hooks to force him to visit the canvas again the second round. The third round followed the in the same faction.

Rodriguez was however stopped cold in the 4th round as he could no longer stand the onslaught of punishing punches that his opponent was dishing out to him prompting his corner to throw in the towel to avoid a disaster handing the win to Banku.

Other notable winners on the night included Joshua Okine aka Bukum Tsatsu who defeated his Brazilian opponent Adonisio Francisco Reyes to become the WBO African Welterweight champion, Herbert Quartey, National Super Bantamweight Champion and Ishmael Aryeetey were crowned National Featherweight Champion.
