GTA, Nestle-Ghana Organise Tennis Clinics

The Ghana Tennis Association with support from Nestle Ghana has organised tennis clinics dubbed 'Lets Play Tennis' from November 20-27, 2010.

The Clinics aimed at improving access and enhancing more public interest in tennis and also identified talents and it  attracted  a total 91 children between ages 6 – 12. Out of the 91 children  registered, 25 were females.

The kids were taken through various warm up exercises by Sulemana Ayaba, a fitness instructor from the Ghana Armed Forces before undergoing various fundamental drills in tennis.

Mr. David Churcher, the technical committee Chairman of the GTA and former National Coach for tennis recounted the support Nestle Ghana has given to the GTA since the 1970’s. He was full of praises for the Nestle Company for rekindling its relationship with the GTA after five years of silence and revealed that these events will be organized every year.

Mr. Emmanuel Abban Sagoe, Secretary General of the Association also thanked Nestle Ghana for supporting the development of tennis in the country and was hopeful that the relationship between the Association and Nestle Ghana will grow from strength to strength.
