Ghana Cycling team grabs "Elegance Jersey" at tour du Togo

The 10-man contingent from the Ghana Cycling Association is safely back in the country after participating in the International Cycling Tour Du Togo from 12th to 18th April, 2010, Lome-Togo. Ghana was represented by a team of 7 cyclist and 3 officials.

Team Ghana achieved the following awards at the end of the tour;

 

  1. Elegance Jersey-the team that rode in style and in accordance to standards in cycling race.
  2. Fairplay country award
  3. 4th Place for Ghana with Burkina as 1st, Cote D’Ivoire 2nd place, Togo Team-A 3rd, Togo Team-B 5th and Benin taking the 6th place.

 

 

The 7-day tour which commemorated Togo’s 50th Anniversary, covered a total distance of 1,033km through some principal cities and towns like Lome, Atakpame, Sokode, Keve,Bafilo, Tsevie, Tabligbo and Aneho.       

 

 

The Ghana Cycling Association is very much grateful to the gallant team that represented the country as well as the National Sports Council for Ghana’s successful participation in the championship.

 

 

We wish to humbly appeal to corporate Ghana for sponsorship to rapidly develop the sport.
