Ghana - Cote d'Ivoire Table Tennis Tournament This Weekend

The "Black LOOPERS" of the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) engages its Cote D'Ivoire counterpart in an International Friendly Table Tennis Tournament on Saturday 6th March, 2010 at the Ohene-Djan Sports Stadium, OSU-Accra from 9am to 6pm.

The main sponsor of the event are: Sqn. Ldr. Ebo Bartels - Chairman of GTTA, Cote D'Ivoire Table Tennis Federation, and the National Sports Council of Ghana.


The international friendly has been arranged by the GTTA to test the performance level of its National Model Teams currently undergoing weekend training camp.


Categories for the competition are Cadets (Under 15) Boys, Juniors (Under 18) Boys & Girls and Seniors Boys.


Ghana's contingents to the one-day tournament are the following in order of ranking as at the 5th weekend of the GTTA National Model Team Weekend Training Camp:


CADET BOYS: Isaac Davies, Asante Emmanuel, Kingsley Hooper and Desmond Nketia


JUNIOR BOYS: Mawutor Quarcoo, Samuel Akayade, Emmanuel Commey and Stephen Sam-Mensah.


JUNIOR GIRLS: Celia Baah Danso, Cynthia Kwabi, Abigail Tetteh and Eva Amankwah.


SENIOR BOYS: Abrefa Derek, Lartey Felix, Bernard Joe Sam and Eric Addo.


Team Ghana enters the tournament with Mr. Anthony Owusu-Ansah as the Head Coach. He would be assisted by Mr. Emmanuel Yarboi.


In attendance as a Special Guest would be Mr. Wolanyo K. Agra, Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Council - Ghana.


The Association is therefore calling on private companies, cooperate bodies and other public spirited individuals for more support for the success of the international friendly tournament.
