Report On Talents Hunt In Tamale (Northern/Upper East/Upper West Regions) On Saturday 13th February, 2010

The Talent Hunt in the Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regions ended in Tamale. The exercise took place on Saturday, 13th February, 2010 at the Kaladan Park, Tamale.

MODE OF EXCERCISE


The exercise was conducted through one hour match involving all the players present at the venue. Before the exercise the Chairman of the Netball Association of Ghana briefed the players on the purpose of the exercise.

 

The Chairman and other members of the Association took turns to elucidate on the rules of CONTACT, OBSTRUCTION and FOOTWORK in Netball.

 

The one hour match commenced after the briefing from the technical team.

 

 

PLAYERS SELECTED


The following players were picked:

 

a. UPPER EAST

  • AMINA UMAR
  • PROPERA CHIA
  • ABDUL RAHMAN
  • BUSHIRA RUKUYA IBRAHIM

 

b. NORTHERN REGION

  • RASHIDA NYAME
  • MOHAMMED BUBABA DIARE

 

c. UPPER WEST REGION

  • ATTELCUMA ATEMBIRE

 

The selection was based on the skill of player, General Comportment and Adequate understanding of the rules of Netball.

 

 

CONCLUSION


The exercise was very fruitful and helped unearth talent in the three regions.

 

The Netball Association of Ghana is grateful to the Administrator of the Northern Regional Sports Council and the Regional Sports Development Officers of Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions.

 

The Association is also grateful to the Chairperson of the Northern Region Netball Association, Mad. Margaret Gbande and Mr. Adama Akaguti, the Technical Coordinator of the Northern Region Netball Association, Executives of the Upper West and Upper East Netball Association especially Mr. Paul Hermit of Upper West and John Kubabon and Prospera Esang all of Upper East.

 

We trust that they will continue to work to develop netball in the North and Ghana as a whole.
