Nation Wide Registration of Cycling Clubs & Cyclists

The Ghana Cycling Association is scheduled to undertake a nationwide registration and licensing of all cycling clubs, cyclists and officials in the country from 18th February - 12th March, 2010 through the Regional Sports Development Officers.

This mandatory exercise forms part of the Association’s agenda to regulate and streamline the proper documentation of all cyclists in the country. The exercise would enable the Association update its records as well as fulfill its obligation to the Confederation of Africa Cycling (CAC) and the International Cycling Union (UCI).

The Association wishes to emphasize that, this requirement is clearly spelt out in the International Cycling Union (UCI) registration, licensing and insurance guidelines for all UCI member nations. Therefore, any cycling club or cyclist who fails to partake in the exercise forfeits participation in future national and international competitions of the Ghana Cycling Association as well as UCI and Confederation of Africa Cycling (CAC).

The Association therefore encourages all prospective participants, to be available at their respective Regional Sports Council offices on the following scheduled dates to perform the necessary action. They must come along with 3 passport photos and birth certificates.
