But the Mighty Lord chose this hour to unveil our new identity to the world. Basically, this re-branding concept is to exhibit or sell our facilities and associations to the corporate world to help us meet the growing demand for sports excellence in the country.
There is no scintilla of doubt that corporate bodies and some public-spirited individuals have partnered the government in the development and promotion of sports. A refreshing example was what Mobile Ghana Limited did some years back with athletics.
We need to resurrect this magnificent and halcyon romance that saw Ghana athletics sprint to become one of the finest on the continent. We also believe hugely that today’s historic re-branding will enhance our general efficiency as well as orientate staff of the NSC to reshape their attitudes towards work.
Mr. Chairman, it would surprise you to know that already, the National Lottery Authority [NLA], has jumped behind the driving seat. The Authority has stuck in some security features into the tickets for all the Premier League Games, starting with tomorrow’s 9th week fixtures.
What this means is that tickets can now be purchased way ahead of matches as done in developed countries.
Maybe, I would have to end here so that I don’t take the storm out of the sail of our Honorable Minister.
Once again, thank you very much for coming, as we celebrate this phenomenal launch.
