Inauguration of Local Organizing Committee


A Seven member local organizing Committee was inaugurated by the Chief Executive of the National Sports Council at the Press Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium on the 3rd May, 2011 at 3:44pm.

The members are,
1) Mr. Wolanyo K. Agra         Chairman
2) Mr. Michael Nunoo            President of Ghana Karate-do Association, Vice Chairman
3) Mrs. Alice Attipoe             Member
4) Mr. Eric Banoeyele            Member
5) Mr. Erasmus Adorkor        Member
6) Mr. Frank Danso              Member
7) Mr. Patrick Anyidoho Cofie        Secretary

The members are charged with the responsibility of organizing and hosting a successful 13th Union of Federation of African Karate (UFAK) Championship in Accra, Ghana from the 30th July to 6th August, 2011.

Ghana was Mandated to host the Championship after her impressive performance at the last UFAK Zone 3 Championship held in Niamey, Niger from the 24th to 30th May, 2010 where the Ghana Karate-do team won one (1) Gold, four (4) Silvers and one (1) Bronze.

The Committee has since started working and has identified University of Ghana, Legon as the venue for the Championship.
