Ghana's Amateur Boxing Team Departs For Youth Olympic Qualification Championshipd In Azerbaijan

A 19-man Amateur Boxing Contingent comprising 7 Officials and 12 Boxers leaves Accra today, Sunday, 18th April for AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships scheduled for Baku, Azerbaijan from 20th April to 2nd May, 2010.

Ghana's Contingent is scheduled to depart Baku on Monday, 3rd May, 2010 after the Championship and arrive back home on Tuesday, 4th May, 2010.

The team is sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Council.

The Ghana Amateur Boxing Association seizes this opportunity to thank the Sports Ministry and the Sports Council for facilitating Ghana’s participation in this Youth Olympics Qualifiers.

GABA hopes to use the opportunity to expose its youthful and first time Boxers to competitive International Amateur Boxing and so request for prayer support for the team from all well - meaning Ghanaians.
