Nationwide Registration Of Amateur Boxing CLubs, Boxers and Boxing Officials

The Ghana Amateur Boxing Association is undertaking a nationwide registration of all amateur boxing clubs, boxers and boxing officials in the country. So far, four regions (Western, Central, Eastern and Volta) have been covered since the exercise began in February 2010.

Registration in the remaining regions, (Brong-Ahafo, Ashanti, Northern, Upper-East & West and Greater Accra) is currently ongoing. The exercise is being undertaken with the co-operation of the Regional Sports Development Officers of the National Sports Council.

The Registration Programme forms part of the Association’s plan to have proper data on all boxing clubs, boxers and boxing officials in the country to update it records and to comply with National Sports Council and AIBA regulations.

The Association wishes to stress that the registration exercise is being demanded by both the National Sports Council and the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA). Therefore, any boxing club, boxer or boxing official (coaches) who fails to register forfeits participation in all future national and international competitions of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Association, the National Sports Council, as well as the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA).

The Association therefore encourages all the aforementioned amateur boxing stakeholders to make themselves available at their respective Regional Sports Council offices for registration before it ends on 30th April, 2010.

Registration requirements are four (4) passport size photographs, birth certificate or national identification card/slip and coaching certificates (for only coaches).

Further enquiries on the registration exercise should be channeled through the Association’s Secretariat on +233-244-819096 or +233-244-017226, +233-271-900738 Email: ghamateurboxing@yahoo.com / amponfijnr@yahoo.com

The Association humbly requests for sponsorship from companies and individual philanthropists for the successful execution of its outlined programmes. All such cash and kind support can be channeled through the GABA Secretariat on the telephone and e-mail contacts provided above.
