Ghana/Nigeria Amateur Boxing Joint Training Programme Starts This Saturday

An 11-man boxing contingent from Nigeria arrives in the Country on Saturday, April 3, 2010 for a one-week International Amateur Boxing joint training with their Ghanaian counterparts.

The contingent comprising six (6) boxers and five (5) officials will engage the Young Black Bombers ,the national youth boxing team in the exercise to prepare the two teams for the pending Youth Olympic Qualifiers scheduled for Baku,Azerbaijan from April 20 to May 2, 2010


Ghana’s youth team has been in non-residential training at the D.G Hathiramani Sports Hall of the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, preparing for the Olympic Qualifiers. Residential camping continues from 4th-18th April.


Some of the special guests to be present at the Ghana-Nigeria joint exercise to take place daily at the D.G Hathiramani Sports Hall, include the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Akua Senna Dansua, the Chief Executive of the National Sports Council (NSC), Mr. Wolanyo K. Agra, Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Senator Obanikoro and the Chairman of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Association, Mr. Ray Quarcoo.
