33RD ITF/CAT Africa Junior Championships & CAT AGM 2010, Abuja - Nigeria

Following the outstanding performance of the Junior National Tennis Team in the West And Central Zone 14 & 16 Under Africa Junior Championship qualifiers hosted by Ghana in January 2010, seven (7) players out fourteen (14) players that represented Ghana in the qualifiers have been confirmed by the International Tennis Federation to having qualified for the 33rd ITF/CAT Africa Junior Championships scheduled to take place from the 30th March – 12th April, 2010 in Abuja Nigeria.

Girls 16 & U

Ghana also entered Japheth Bagerbaseh to represent the nation in the under 18 Junior Championship category which will run concurrently with the 14 & 16 under Junior Championship. Japheth Bagerbaseh qualified for the under- 18 Junior Championship category through series of under -18 ranking competitions played in both Togo and Benin in September 2009.

 

The Team will be accompanied by the Chairman (Leader of delegation) and Secretary General of the Association and will depart from Ghana on Monday 29th March 2010. Whiles in Abuja, The Chairman and Secretary General will attend the 2010 Annual General Meeting of the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT). The meeting is expected to discuss among others several amendments of CAT constitution and the situation of Tennis on the African continent.
