The ceremony was also used to launch the Beach Soccer Division One League compromising of 13 clubs. Participating teams include Dansoman Beach Soccer Club, East Legon Sharks, Havedzi Sunset, Layaco and Osu Dolphins Beach Soccer Club.
The rest are Senya Bereku Sharks, Tegbi Youth, Wuo Gbee and Ada Assurance Beach Club.
Speaking at the event, the President of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association, Mr Yaw Ampofo Ankrah noted that it was about time that Beach Soccer was given the needed attention adding that CAL bank is partner of the sport from now onwards.
He expressed his appreciation to the Bank for coming to rescue the sport and sponsoring their maiden league.
On their part, The Head of Risk and Compliance at CAL Bank, Jacqueline Benya expressed her outfit’s commitment towards promoting the sport.
The Director General of the National Sports Authority, Mr Wolanyo Agra assured the Association that the NSA would help provide logistics, equipment and programmes necessary for the development of the sport.
