Chihuahua, Chihuahua, on April 12th, 2010.
DEAR GHANA ATHLETICS ASSOCIATION:
Chihuahua will be the venue of the 24th IAAF World Race Walking Cup, organised together with the IAAF, the State Government of Chihuahua, and the Mexican Athletic Federation. The event will be held on May 15th and 16th, 2010, and will gather the best athletes worldwide. Chihuahua is ready to welcome competitors and technical staff from more than 60 countries.
Through this letter, we cordially invite you to come to the 24th IAAF World Race Walking Cup. It would be a great honor if you decided to take part and cover this great event.
The World Race Walking Cup will take place for the second time in Mexico; in 1993 the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, witnessed the victories of Mexicans Daniel Garcia and Carlos Mercenario in the 20 and 50 km. respectively. Besides, Mexico triumphed by winning the gold medal in the team category over both distances.
Chihuahua will make sports history this 2010, in which Mexico celebrates the ‘Centenary of the Mexican Revolution’, the ‘Bicentenary of the beginning of Mexican Independence’, and ‘Chihuahua, a hundred years as the cradle of the Mexican Revolution’.
Given these historic anniversaries, combined with an extraordinary moment for sport in Mexico due to the organisation of the IAAF World Race Walking Cup, we would be happy to have the support of your media.
We attach for you the accreditation form.
Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Gallegos Eng.
Organizing Committee President
